Build and Design
GS430 is another well-rounded budget gaming headphone from Cosmic Byte and is the third iteration of the GS line up. From the built quality to design, it takes many cues from its predecessor, cosmic Byte GS420. Just like most other gaming headsets from the company, it also features a nice build, and a gamer looks with a classier vibe.
This means that the Cosmic Byte GS430 is built entirely from plastic but still feels sturdy enough for day to day use. The headphones pack the same multicolour RGB lights that light up once you plug-in the USB connector.
The headset comes with the same 2.1-meter cable and an audio splitter in the box so you can use it with any Desktop PC or other devices that come with a separate audio-in port.
Specs, Sound and Microphone Quality
The Cosmic Byte GS430 has sound quality. All thanks to the high quality 50 mm neodymium drivers. The impedance is again pretty standard at 32 ohms. The frequency response is 20-20k Hz according to the specs listed on the official website.
What we really liked about GS430 is the improved padding on the headrest and the cushion around the earcups. It is much better compared to the predecessors (more on that later).
Coming to the sound quality, the headphones sound good. The sound quality is on par with the competition and is much better than GS410. There is enough definition in the bass, mids, and treble with ample volume.
The microphone is a similar story. The headphone comes with the signature folding microphone from GS410. The sound via the mic is top-notch. All in all, you will enjoy playing games with these bad boys. You can easily hear footsteps and gunshots in the game as well as the direction. Music playback will be okay too just not that great.
Comfort and Fit
Talking about comfort Cosmic Byte GS430 is much comfortable than GS 410. The fitting is on point with adjustable ear cups. Although the padding looks almost identical, they are much soft. Even after a few rounds of PUBG, we didn’t feel any discomfort, nor did we feel any heft. Great!
Additional Features
You get an inline volume and mic control which is always great. This means you can instantly plug it into a Laptop or your Smartphone with 3.5mm jack. Easily toggle the mic on and off with a slide of a button. There is also a volume wheel present for quickly increasing or decreasing volume.
Flick up the microphone anytime you want. The microphone folds up on to the right side, giving it a much tidy look. One thing we really liked about GS 430 is that it is not as flashy as GS410. And as mentioned earlier, you get an audio splitter right in the box. So you don’t need to spend any more money.
Things we liked
- Affordable Price
- RGB lighting
- Good Sound quality.
- Much improved padding with softer cushioning
- Audio Splitter included in the box.
Things we didn’t like
- A bit more expensive
Verdict:
The Cosmic Byte GS430 is a good gaming headphone for anyone on a budget. The specs, the sound quality, the mic the design everything is excellent at a price. The build quality and the quality of padding are much improved, and you get an audio splitter for broader compatibility. The only issue is the headphones cost a bit more than the 1000 Rupees else it would have taken the first spot without a doubt.
Cosmic Byte GS410
Specifications:
Connector | 3.5mm audio & microphone, USB for light |
Cord length | 2.1m |
Driver size | 40mm |
Frequency Response | 20 – 20000 Hz |
Impedance | 32 ohm |
Other features | 7 different LED lights |
Warranty | 1-year warranty |
Build and Design
The Cosmic Byte GS410 is easily one of the cheapest gaming headphones you can buy in 2023. The headset features a nice built with some gaming aesthetics. The closed-back design, along with good quality ear pads and adjustable ear cups ensures a good seal and near-perfect sound isolation for an immersive gaming experience.
One issue with the build quality is that the headset is entirely made out of plastic. However, considering the price, this shouldn’t be an issue. Furthermore, the headset is sturdy enough to handle day to day abuse and should be able to survive a few drops from your desk.
You also get and multicoloured RGB present on each side of the headphones. The RGB lights will keep changing colours automatically once you plug-in the USB cord to your laptop. Sadly though, there is no way to control the LEDs.
The headphone comes with a pretty long cable at 2.1 meters which is suitable for almost all applications. The microphone is present on the right side.
Specs, Sound and Microphone Quality
The sound quality is good, considering the price. The drivers perform well; however, the driver size is not specified. The driver impedance is pretty standard at 32ohm with a frequency response of 15-20K Hz.
In daily usage, the headphones sound good considering the price. There is ample bass with good mids and okay treble. The sound clarity is also good with good vocals. You will have no issues hearing enemy footsteps, gunshots and your surroundings in the game as well as your teammates complaining about how they got wrecked due to lag.
If we nitpick, we can say that the more or less flat sound signature leaves a lot to be desired. Then again, these headphones are designed for gamers and not for audiophiles.
The microphone quality is surprisingly good. The earphones were able to filter out wind noises, and the voice was clear with minimal distortion.
Comfort and Fit
If we talk about comfort, The Cosmic Byte GS410 is okay at best. Don’t get us wrong; these are good headphones for the price you are paying, but I can’t help but wish it was a bit more comfortable. The headphones fit snug, but as time passes, you kind of feel a bit of heft on both sides of as well as the top of your head. That being said, the adjustable cups can help relieve the discomfort to some extent, but it is more of a remedy than a cure.
If you like to play games at a stretch for multiple hours, we don’t think you should go for these headphones.
Additional Features
As of Additional features, you get an inline volume and mic control which is always appreciable. This means you can instantly plug it into a Laptop or your Smartphone with 3.5mm jack. Easily toggle the mic on and off with a slide of a button.
Although not detachable you can flick up the microphone anytime you want. The microphone folds up on to the right side, giving it a much cleaner look.
One crucial thing to mention is, if you are planning to use the earphones with a desktop PC rather than a laptop or phone, you will need an audio splitter. This is because the Cosmic Byte GS410 comes with an inline mic whereas most Desktops use separate audio in (mic) port.
Pros
- Very affordable
- Gaming aesthetics and RGB
- Good Sound quality for the price
- noise cancellation
Cons
- Not comfortable for prolonged usage
- No audio splitter included.
Verdict:
The Cosmic Byte GS410 is a good gaming headphone for anyone on a tight budget. The sub-1000 rupees price and good sound quality (for the price) make it a worthy contender. However, it does have some shortcomings as it is not very comfortable on prolonged usage. Also if you are planning to use it with a Desktop PC, you will need to buy an audio
Redgear Dagger Wired Professional Gaming Headphones with RGB
Specifications
Connector | 3.5mm audio & microphone, USB for light |
Cord length | 2.1m |
Driver size | 40mm |
Frequency Response | 20 – 20000 Hz |
Impedance | 32 ohm |
Other features | LED lights |
Warranty | 1-year warranty |
Build and Design
Redgear Dagger is one of the well-known brands for gaming headphones in a budget. Their wired Professional Gaming Headphones are suitable for anyone wanting to game on both mobile and PC. The wire is pretty long at 2.2 meters. It is wholly made out of plastic with no metal in construction, but the headphones feel super sturdy and hefty (more on that later).
The ear cups are cosy, and the adjustable headband means it will fit snug on your head. The icing on the cake is the multicoloured RGB lights that that light up when you plug in the USB cable. The microphone resides on the right side of the earphone and can be tucked away with a flick of a finger. Gamer enough, right?
Specs, Sound and Microphone Quality
Redgear Dagger Wired Professional Gaming headphones come with top quality hardware. The impedance and the frequency response weren’t mentioned in the specs. However, the 40mm drivers can produce some good audio.
Coming to the actual audio quality, the headphones sound okay. One thing about these headphones is that they are really bass-heavy. Yes, if you are a bass-head, you will like it but while playing games like PUBG Mobile hearing footsteps can be a bit of issue for some users. However, it can be easily fixed by tuning the equalizer.
The microphone, on the other hand, is excellent. There were no issues with a voice pick up even with the ceiling fan turned on. The easy flick mic has an inbuilt mechanism that turns it off when tucked up. Neat!
Comfort and Fit
Comfort is another area where Redgear excels. Right of the bat the ear cup, the headband cushioning seems good quality. You won’t have any complaints here. What you might have some complaints is the weight of the device. They are a bit heavy to my liking. The extra heft that made the headphones feels sturdy seems like a con now. But that’s not to say it is very uncomfortable on prolonged usage. It’s a tad bit more noticeable.
Additional Features
Redgear professional Gaming headphone also comes with a volume wheel for boosting the volume even further. This is very helpful in case you are using these headphones with your android device. Then again, if you are planning to use the earphones with a mobile device, you will need a pair of Y connector as the headphone has separate audio in(mic) and audio out (Sound output).
Pros
- The very affordable price of just RS999
- Reliable build quality for the price
- Nice RGB lights.
- Heavy bass for all the bass heads out there.
- great sound
Cons
- A bit too heavy compared to the competition.
- Separate mic and audio jacks with no connector or dongle in the box to be used with mobile devices.
Verdict:
Redgear professional Gaming headphones are a fine choice for anyone looking for a good quality sturdy pair of headphones under 1000 Rs, especially for PC gamers on a tight budget. Yes, the headphones are a tad bit heavy, but this is expected considering the build. The audio performance is satisfactory with a nice amount of bass for occasional music listening.

Cord length | 2.1m |
Driver size | 40mm |
Frequency Response | 20Hz-20KHz |
Sensitivity (dB) | 101db ±3db |

Build and Design
boAt is one of the most popular audio brands in India. In fact, on their website, they claim that they are India’s No.1 ear wear brand. Though we cannot verify the statement, one thing we can stand behind is that you can never go wrong with them.
boAt Bass Heads 900 On-Ear Wired Headphones offer a more minimalistic look. It is compatible with all devices with a headphone jack and weighs just 150 grams. However, the build is satisfyingly solid. The headband is narrow, yet there is enough resistance that will keep them from slipping even after years of usage.
The ear cups feature a more traditional adjustable sliding mechanism. The earpads and the headband cushioning are made out of good quality material. The microphone resides on the 2-meter long wire. Sadly unlike a gaming headphone, there are no RGB lights, but that is expected considering the sub-1000 Rs price. But on the flip side, it has foldable ear cups for secure storage.
Specs, Sound and Microphone Quality
If you look past the unexciting design, you will be greeted with a list of elegant specs. The boAt BassHeads 900 On-Ear Wired Headphones comes with 40mm Neodymium drivers that have a frequency response of 20 to all the way up to 20k Hz. Be it treble or mid; the headphone performs admirably. Where it really shines (in case it wasn’t evident from the name) is the bass. And at just a mere 3mW power draw these are well suited for mobile devices.
All in all, the audio performance is admirable considering the price.
But all of this is meaningless unless we talk about gaming performance (isn’t it why you are here in the first place?). Well, it is safe to say that you won’t be disappointed. From footsteps to the sound of rain in video games, boAt BassHeads 900 produced all sounds pleasantly.
If you are a bass head and want to enjoy listening to music when you are not gaming, these are the way to go.
The microphone is good too. Just unlike most gaming headphones on the list, it is located on the wire and not on the right ear cup. You may need to bring the mic close to your mouth if you plan to whisper during your gaming sessions (LoL).
Comfort and Fit
Gaming headphones have to be comfortable, and boAt BassHeads 900 fares well in this department. The excellent quality of the pads and cushioning material ensures a snug fit and proper isolation. All this combines with the lightweight of just 150 grams means you can wear it for hours without discomfort.
Additional Features
boAt BassHeads 900 doesn’t have a ton to offer in other features apart from foldable ear cups. It lacks all sorts of fancy stuff like RGB or even a wheel volume control which might come in handy. But then again it is areas where boAt decided to cut corner to hit the crazy-low pricing.
Pros
- The low price of just RS 799
- boAt Brand name
- Solid build quality
- Lightweight at only 150 grams
- Good audio quality with heavy bass and excellent volume
Cons
- Sound leakage at extreme volume
Verdict
As stated earlier, you can’t really go wrong with boAt. BassHeads 900 On-Ear Wired Headphones are no exception. At sub 800 rupees the headphones offer excellent audio quality, good immersion, and a comfortable experience. Yes, there are no cool RGB Lights, nor there is a quick flick mic. Instead, boAt Bass Heads 900 got it where it counts with stellar audio performance and a very comfortable fit. Plus it has a minimalistic design that means you can wear it in metros, college, office, a park bench, or just your living room couch.

All of us are familiar with HP. They are renounced for making great laptops, computers and computer accessories for decades. So when HP launched a pair of over-ear headphones under 1000, we had to include it in our list.
HP B4B09PA Headphones with Mic is one of the very few over-the-ear headphones from a tier 1 brand in the price category.
Build and Design
Right of the bat, it doesn’t look flashy at all. The design too seems a bit dated. Then again, you cannot expect much at this price. There is no cushioning on the headband, but it is quite broad so that comfort won’t be an issue. The ear cup padding is good, and the microphone is present on the right that has a foam cover that helps in canceling out wind noises. Additionally, you can adjust the angle of the receiver or fold it up when not in use.
The cable to is 1.5 meters long so you can move while gaming without the fear of accidentally pulling out the cord. HP B4B09PA over-ear Headphones are totally compatible with any device with a headphone jack. The only con is that it doesn’t have RGB.
Specs, Sound and Microphone Quality
HP B4B09PA over-ear Headphones features what we would call humble specs. The 35 mm drivers promise a high sound quality. That, combined with a full range (20-20K Hz) frequency response ensures a pleasant audio experience. The sound profile is natural.
Gaming is a similar story. The well-designed ear pads provide a good seal and almost complete sound isolation. However, there is a bit to be desired if we compare it with boAt bass heads. Overall unless you nitpick there is not much to be desired.
The microphone performed excellently, to say the least. Be it in-game chat or calls your voice will sound crisp and clear. This is easily one of the best headphones with mic under 1000.
Comfort and Fit
Specs and all that aside, comfort is where these babies really shine. Be it long calls or extended gaming sessions HP B4B09PA is super comfortable. The premium quality ear pads and the 209-gram weight ensures comfortable wear. Also, there is no sound leakage what so ever.
Additional Features

Pros
- An affordable Price
- Premium quality ear pads
- Light and comfortable
- Splitter included with the package.
Cons
- No RGB lighting
Verdict:
HP B4B09PA Over ear headphones are an excellent choice for anyone looking to purchase budget earphones from a tier-one brand. It doesn’t offer a ton in terms of build, nor does it have cool lights to go with your gaming setup and eye-catchy design.
